Well, now it's my turn Angry My 207 GT's developed the infamous "flat spot" where you get absolutely no power up to about 2000-3000 rpm then it kicks like a nutter! It's perfect when cold, but after about 10 minutes it goes crap. It's caught me out a couple of times at junctions where you get no acceleration when pulling away.

I conveniently saw the salesman this evening when we were shopping Cheesy I mentioned it to him and he said it was a recognised condition. He reckoned Peugeot are talking to BMW about it. I'll get it booked in and I'll let you all know what happens.

On a good note - my iPod touch arrived this week...woop woop!! Grin Grin Grin Grin

Aaargh !
Sorry to hear that Bazza.
At least if enough people suffer from it, then they will more likely be forced to acknowledge the problem.
Please keep us informed ! We've heard about this fault in several places but no-one actually seems to have ever mentioned a solution.

I keep getting paranoid about my GTi; I've stalled it a few times at silly places, but that's probably 'cos I'm not pressing the accelerator  Grin
At the moment I can feel a lower power until around 1500rpm then more kicks in and it seems smooth enough from there up.

Cheers fasty. Yeah, that's what mine used to be like - normal power in low revs and then a nice smooth surge as the turbo kicked in. Now the turbo is really stuttery and jumpy. The salesman said they will probably try an ECU software upgrade first and then see how it goes. I'm happy with that as long as they find a cure!

Cool - glad to hear that Dan. It'll be interesting to hear what they did if you can find out.

Cheers

Well, I took in my GT this afternoon to hopefully be fixed. They're phoning me tomorrow when it's ready. I'll let you all know if it's sorted.

They lent me a 1.4 petrol Sport. It's a 57 plate with around 350 miles on the clock. When I was about a mile from home the car beeped and the display said "power steering". Then the power steering completely cut out Shocked It was virtually impossible to steer. I managed to get back and switched the engine off. I started it again a few minutes later and it was fine again. I'm just glad it didn't happen a few minutes earlier when I was on fast, winding roads Angry

Got my GT back this afternoon. So far it's brilliant Grin Back to it's normal turbo-kickin' self!! It accelerates nice and smooth again. The dealer said it needed an engine ECU software upgrade. Let's hope it stays this way Smiley

Great news that its good again!
Why would this happen though? Seems like a common issue? It works OK and then all of a sudden it develops a flat spot...which it seems that the software update will fix...Just wondering what it could fix that would be causing it?
Lots of questions there...just find it a bit odd really!  Huh
